28 of Dubai's Neighborhoods Get a Fresh Identity with the Renaming Initiative by DLD.

Some of Dubai's most bustling and widely recognized districts are undergoing a rebranding process. This transformation includes sections of Emirates Hills, Motor City, and Sports City. Additionally, the area currently known as Sheikh Zayed Road will now bear the name Burj Khalifa, aligning itself with the emirate's iconic landmark.

While the road itself is likely to maintain its original name, the neighborhood it encompasses will now share its identity with the renowned Burj Khalifa. This change is part of a larger initiative involving 28 key areas in Dubai, as revealed in a post on the Dubai Land Department (DLD) website on Sunday, January 14. However, it's worth noting that the post has since been removed, and the DLD has mentioned that they are currently in the process of updating area names and will return with more information soon.

The upscale residential zones within Emirates Hills, known as Emirates Hills First, Second, and Third, are being renamed as Al Thanyah Fifth, Third, and Fourth, respectively. Notable adjustments also include Sports City and Sport City First, which will now be identified as Al Hebiah Fourth and Al Hebiah Second.

Ranches is transitioning to Wadi Al Asafa Six, and Motor City will adopt the name Al Hebiah First. These modifications in neighborhood nomenclature coincide with recent announcements regarding the renaming of streets in Dubai. The new street names aim to reflect the emirate's rich heritage and identity, as exemplified by Al Ghaf Street in Al Khawaneej 2, which honors one of the region's most cherished tree species.
